Welcome to our final newsletter of 2020! First of all, we would like to thank all of our clients for their ongoing support through what has proven to be a challenging year and we are looking forward to continue working together in the New Year. At the beginning of 2020, it is unlikely that anyone could have predicted that within three months, a global pandemic would flip the world as we knew it completely upside down. To combat the potential spread of COVID-19 we did our bit by immediately implementing a working from home policy and fully utilising the capabilities of Microsoft Teams. We are proud of our team for fully embracing working from home, and have found that not only has it created a more balanced and healthy lifestyle for our team, it has also improved our overall productivity for our clients. Despite its challenges, 2020 was a big year for us with the amalgamation of Pulver Cooper & Blackley into Barker Ryan Stewart. This has strengthened our surveying, planning and civil engineering capabilities and has added water and sewer design, co-ordination and construction supervision to our service provision. We are proud to continue working closely with our clients in the property development industry. This newsletter features a new Harvey Norman development in Taylors Beach for which we have successfully assisted in obtaining development consent. We have also built up our infrastructure design team and are fortunate to be working with a number of existing and new council clients on local, regional and main (Transport for NSW) road projects. Two examples of such infrastructure projects are featured in this newsletter. Throughout 2020 we have worked closely with a number of state government departments providing our services on a variety of school, fire and police station, community facility, surf life-saving club, social housing, water and sewer, and road and rail infrastructure projects. From our growing office in South East Queensland, we have also increased our pipeline of work and capability to take on more projects in South East Queensland and Northern NSW. In this newsletter, we feature a variety of residential subdivisions we are currently working on in Northern NSW. One of the main reasons we can successfully deliver projects for our clients is by utilising the strengths that come with having a diverse team. In what is a male-dominated industry, we are proud that 35% of our team is made up of talented women. Our Central Coast Manager, Kim Stamper, is featured in this newsletter as part of our ‘women in the property and infrastructure industry’ series. We would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday season! Thank you again for all of your support and we are looking forward to working with you in 2021. Regards, Glenn Barker, Managing Director On behalf of the Barker Ryan Stewart team |
